SET Ventures has promoted two key members of the team, Dr. Till Stenzel and Leonie Mekel, as SET looks to continue backing digital solutions for a carbon-free energy system.
Dr. Till Stenzel, who joined the firm in May 2021, has been promoted from Venture Partner to a full member of the SET Partner team. Till has been an invaluable part of SET’s growing emphasis on the German, Austrian and Swiss (DACH) startup ecosystems. With this promotion, SET Ventures looks to further cement their position in backing clean energy innovation in the DACH region.

That’s why we are very happy to have him as a Partner on our Board.”
Till brings 20 years of European energy and investment experience to his role, having previously operated in different positions in investment, industry, government-policy and academia in the clean energy sector.
Furthermore, SET Ventures has promoted Leonie Mekel from Director of Finance & Operations to the role of Chief Financial Officer (CFO). Mekel will be responsible for the financial strategy, reporting and compliance as well as overseeing all operations and playing a critical role in shaping SET Ventures’ future growth trajectory.
