SET is pleased to announce it has invested in Decade Energy, the company building the power infrastructure at logistics depots. The startup has secured €22 million to scale deployment across France, expand its product offering, and enter new international markets. The financing combines €5.5 million led by energytech VC, SET Ventures, along with €16 million in equity from Eiffel Investment Group, for further product development and market expansion.
As truck electrification accelerates, the bottleneck is no longer vehicle availability but access to power. Grid constraints, long connection lead times, and the complexity of on-site energy systems are slowing deployment at many logistics sites.
Decade Energy solves that problem by developing, financing, and operating the integrated energy infrastructure needed at depots to support electric truck fleets. This includes new grid connections, battery energy storage systems (BESS), EV charging, solar, and software to optimise energy use. With a zero-CAPEX approach, Decade Energy helps logistics property owners secure power capacity while creating predictable rental income and adding additional value from BESS participation in energy markets.
“This financing allows us to expand Decade Energy from a deployment model into a broader platform for depot electrification. We are building the software, energy products, and team needed to serve logistics sites more comprehensively, and to bring that model into new European markets. We now have the capital and platform to turn logistics depots into the power infrastructure that electric road transport needs.”
— Casper Norden, CEO & Co-Founder, Decade Energy
A New Model for Future-Ready Depots
Its distributed portfolio approach – deploying across many sites rather than a small number of centralized assets – prepares depots for electric truck fleets and increases long-term asset value. In doing so, Decade Energy is helping define a new category of infrastructure for electric road transport: the powered, flexible, future-ready depot.
“This fundraising validates both our strategy and the strength of our team at Decade Energy. We have built a model around the real needs of depots: access to power, infrastructure, and a practical path to electrification. Now we can scale construction and support more customers as they prepare their sites for electric fleets.”
— Alexandre Cleret, COO & Co-Founder, Decade Energy
Decade Energy’s traction already signals a strong market pull. To date, the company has:
- Conducted more than 1,500 depot electrification feasibility studies across Europe
- Advanced more than 100 projects representing over 500MW of capacity currently under development
- Built a pipeline of 50 projects set to begin construction in 2026
The financing marks Decade Energy’s shift from development to deployment at scale.
This capital will help the company to fund both the deployment of a portfolio of BESS projects across France, adding several megawatts of capacity, strengthening energy independence at logistics sites, and enabling fleet charging and grid flexibility, and the next phase of its product roadmap, including energy optimisation software, new truck charging and PV solutions, and team expansion into new markets.
Together, the two new investors, SET Ventures and Eiffel Investment Group, bring complementary capabilities to the next phase of Decade Energy’s development.
“Against today’s geopolitical backdrop, the case for BESS buildout and fossil fuel independence has never been stronger. Decade Energy is tackling one of the most critical choke points in the energy transition: grid constraints at logistics depots. Their team combines deep transport expertise and strong energy infrastructure capabilities, backed up by impressive early traction. This convinced us that they are uniquely positioned to build a leading platform that can meaningfully accelerate Europe’s energy resilience.”
— Julia Padberg, Partner, SET Ventures
“BESS is no longer a niche technology. It is becoming a core infrastructure, combining a necessary flexibility tool for more renewable penetration with the potential to electrify logistics depots. Decade Energy’s proven infrastructure deployment, coupled with Eiffel Investment Group’s strong market expertise, will turn fragmented site-level demand into a scalable model while generating long-term value for customers and the power system alike.”
— Laurent Coubret, Investment Director, Eiffel Investment Group
Growing to European Scale
France has been Decade Energy’s initial launch market and first execution proof point, with active deployment underway. However, Decade’s solution is not specific to the French market but instead reflects a wider European trend, and it’s the company’s ambition to cover that market for their customers. With this funding, Decade aims to expand across Europe, including Germany, the Nordics and Poland, adapting its model to local market dynamics and customer needs.
This expansion comes at a time when governments are accelerating electrification efforts, including recent announcements in France to support the transition of fleets and infrastructure, reinforcing the need for scalable depot power solutions.

About Decade Energy
Decade Energy is an infratech company accelerating truck electrification. The company develops, finances, and operates on-site energy systems, integrating grid access, BESS, charging, solar, and software to enable electric fleet operations at scale. By securing long-term power capacity directly at depots, Decade Energy helps logistics operators overcome grid constraints. Backed by experience working with leading European real estate and transport companies, Decade Energy is building a new generation of logistics infrastructure: electrified, resilient, and ready for large-scale deployment.
About SET Ventures
SET Ventures was founded in 2007 with the sole purpose of backing European innovation in clean energy. At that time, we were one of the only investors in this space, but almost 20 years later, we’re proud to not only have raised our fourth fund but to have helped turn the energy transition from an afterthought into a global movement.
